Mariette Pacha
Born as Auguste Mariette in Boulogne-sur-Mer, he was one of the first and one of the greatest french egyptologist. In 1867, he received the title of Pasha from the egyptian vice-king for his contribution to the protection of the egyptian heritage. La Maison Méert was entrusted with various pièces montées including on in the shape of a pyramid, during the celebrations of the Universal Exhibition. Great adventurer and hunter, he was nontheless a great tea lover.
